For the most meaningful results, the assessment should be completed through a short internal consultation rather than by a single individual.

Ideally, the assessment should be completed by a small cross-functional group (3–5 people) who collectively understand different parts of the organisation and also represent different organisational levels. Recommended participants include:

  • Senior leadership or investment leaders (for strategy and decision-making processes)
  • HR or people management teams (for hiring, promotion, and workplace policies)
  • Investment/business teams (for sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio processes)
  • Product or operations teams where relevant (for customer or product design)

Where possible, the group completing the assessment should include both women and men.

A single response is not recommended to arrive at a representative assessment score for the organization.

The responses should reflect current institutional practices and documented processes that are implemented consistently, rather than intentions, planned initiatives, or individual perceptions.
